Fashion week in NYC kicks off the biggest event of the year for the fashion industry.

Here vogue trends for the fall/winter blossom and the outrageous gets attention. Upcoming designers and new faces are broached and new battles with old for definitions of style.

Even Project runway contestants were in the mix, presenting their collections undercover.

At Bryant Park the chic display didn't get off with its traditional bang in February 2010 as there was a somber air following the tragic death of one of the industry's most provocative and talented designers Alexander McQueen. It was also a poignant goodbye to the Park which was hosting the occasion for the last time.
